New Dzantik’i Heeni Playground Opens August 19
After a summer of construction, the City and Borough of Juneau and Juneau School District are pleased to share that the new Dzantik’i Heeni Playground opens tomorrow, August 19. The public is invited to celebrate the playground’s opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Dzantik’i Heeni Campus (1600 Renninger Street) beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The new playground features swings and play structures for students and local families to enjoy. The park is housed on the Dzantik’i Heeni Campus, along with Juneau Charter School, Montessori Borealis Public School, and Yakoosgé Daakahídi High School.
Construction of the Dzantik’i Heeni Playground was funded through the City and Borough of Juneau general fund, the Juneau School Board of Education, the Benito and Frances C. Gaguine Foundation, and individual donations.
