Meet the Candidates for TMHS Principal Feb. 22 & 23

The Juneau School District (JSD) has completed a nationwide search for candidates for Thunder Mountain High School (TMHS) Principal. Three finalists will visit the school on February 22 and 23.

Candidates

The candidates are: Shawn Arnold, JSD Director of Student Services; Karen Keck, Kotzebue Middle High School science and social studies teacher; and, Laura Scholes, Dzantik’i Heeni Middle School Assistant Principal. Candidate resumes are available here or in the News block at juneauschools.org.

The community is invited to meet the candidates at a Community Open House on Tuesday, February 22 in the TMHS Library from 5 – 6 pm.

Interviews

Public interviews will be held Wednesday, February 23, in the TMHS Library. An interview panel, which includes representatives from the school’s certificated staff and classified staff, district administration and the Site Council, will conduct the interviews. Written public comment cards will be available at the open house and during the interviews. Written comments can also be shared with the interview committee in care of JSD Human Resources [email protected]. Emailed comments must be received prior to the interviews to be considered by the team. The panel will consider all public comments during their deliberations. Following deliberations, a recommendation will be forwarded to Superintendent Dr. Bridget Weiss.
