Make Room for Spring Road Maintenance

As the snow from this record-setting winter melts, the City and Borough of Juneau’s (CBJ) Streets & Fleets Maintenance division reminds Juneau residents to make room on the road for our crews. The division is out in full force patching potholes, clearing snow berms, and keeping storm drains running. If you see CBJ staff working on a road issue, be sure to give space, drive slowly, and obey traffic signage. 

The division fills around 3000 potholes each year, and this year there are significantly more and larger potholes due to the extreme snow and additional haul trucks on the road. The Streets division conducts regular road checks but appreciates the community’s help in identifying issues. If you see a road issue of any kind – including potholes, downed trees, blocked culverts – fill the Report a Problem form at juneau.org/engineering-public-works/streets/report-a-problem.
