Learn how to run for local office at June 12 workshop

May 18, 2021 – FYI

If you’re thinking about running for local office or plan to work for someone who is, you should attend the free half-day “How to Run for Local Office” virtual seminar on June 12. You’ll learn what it’s like to serve on the Juneau Assembly and School Board, the legal requirements of candidates, how to campaign, and you’ll hear from current and past elected officials.

The annual workshop is on Saturday, June 12, 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. It’s free and focuses on: what the jobs entail, deciding and preparing to run, how to get elected, and what happens if/when you win. Learn more and register for the workshop on the League of Women Voters (LWV) of Juneau website. The LWV partners with the City and Borough of Juneau Clerk’s Office, Juneau Public Libraries, and the Juneau School District to offer this workshop.
