Kaxdigoowu Heen Dei (Brotherhood Bridge Trail) Temporarily Closed for Critical Pedestrian Bridge Repairs 

Kaxdigoowu Heen Dei (Brotherhood Bridge Trail) is partially closed starting today, September 25 through Wednesday, September 30 for critical repairs to the Dimond Park Footbridge.  

During construction, construction crews and large trucks will be moving on Kaxdigoowu Heen Dei. For public safety, the trail is closed from the Dimond Park Footbridge to the Equestrian Trail (located at the end of Wildmeadow Lane) until construction ends. The trailhead to the meadow will remain open. 

During the 2026 glacial lake outburst flood, land underneath the approach to the Dimond Park footbridge experienced extreme erosion, making the bridge unsafe for public use. Since floodwaters receded, the bridge has been closed as plans were made for repairs. Beginning today, construction crews will start repairs that will make the pedestrian bridge safe to reopen in the future. 

The City and Borough of Juneau appreciates the public for their patience as these critical safety repairs are made. Residents can visit the Find a Trail webpage for alternative outdoor places to recreate.
