CBJ reports six new COVID-19 cases in Juneau over the weekend
The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting six new Juneau residents with COVID-19. These cases came in over the weekend. Public Health is attributing five of the cases to secondary transmission and one to community spread. One of the secondary cases is linked to the August social gathering, bringing that cluster total to 38 so far.
Cumulatively, Juneau has had 272 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 98 nonresidents. There are 28 active cases in Juneau and 341 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There are currently three people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 71 new people with COVID-19 – 70 are residents and one is a nonresident. Alaska has had 6,906 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 932 nonresidents.
