It takes a community: Volunteers needed for Project Playground Rebuild
The Community Build of Project Playground at Twin Lakes is happening now through Sunday, August 12, and there are plenty of ways to help out. The Project Playground Steering Committee and Parks & Recreation are currently recruiting volunteers for various shifts throughout the day. Tools are also needed.
Volunteers of various skill levels are needed, no construction experience necessary. Kids over 10 are welcome to help. Volunteers are asked to please show up right before a shift:
SHIFT 1 – 8 a.m. to noon
SHIFT 2 – 12:30 pm to 5 p.m.
SHIFT 3 – 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
All shifts include a meal, thanks to generous food donations. The preference is for volunteers to work a whole shift, but if you can only work part of a shift, you’re still needed. Please dress for the weather and bring tools if possible.
If you can’t volunteer time, the community build is still seeking specific tools: drills, speed squares, carpenters squares, tape measures, and 4-foot levels. Please label the tools with your contact information, drop them off at the site, and the committee will make sure you get them back.
Fence pickets are still available for purchase until August 12. Buy your picket at the community build or at goprojectplayground.org. Thank you to everyone who’s already volunteering or helping out.
