How to vote in the Nov. 3 General Election while in quarantine or isolation

For Juneau voters who had plans to vote in the November 3 General Election but find themselves unexpectedly in quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19, you can still vote. Here are two options:

1. Special Needs Voting
   Have someone pick up and deliver a ballot to you. This person is called a personal representative. Your personal representative may pick up a ballot for you at an early voting location – Alaska Division of Elections Region I Elections Office at Mendenhall Mall Annex or the State Office Building – before Election Day or at your polling place on Election Day (for speedier outcomes, the Alaska Division of Elections recommends this be done prior to Election Day). Your personal representative will need their ID in order to pick up your ballot. The Personal Representative may return your voted ballot to any absentee or early voting location during the hours they are open or to a polling place on Election Day by 8 p.m. Learn more about Special Needs Voting here or call the Alaska Division of Elections Region I Elections Office at 465-3021.
2. Online Ballot Delivery
   You can request an absentee ballot application by electronic transmission until 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2. You will need to have an email address and access to a computer and a printer. Electronic transmission ballots must be returned by fax or by mail; there is no online voting. If faxed, the Alaska Division of Elections must receive it by 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3. If you are voting in person, the Alaska Division of Elections has issued guidance for safe conduct of elections and polling places to lower COVID-19 related risks. Voters should wear masks and practice social distancing of at least six feet when waiting to use the polling booth or ballot box.
