Holland America Line changes plans; Westerdam no longer coming to Juneau at this time

Holland America Line announced yesterday that it has decided not to bring the cruise ship Westerdam to Juneau for lay up in March and April as previously planned.

Here’s an excerpt of the statement from Holland America:

“Holland America Line will now bring Westerdam to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, instead of Juneau, Alaska. When the company announced a voluntary suspension of global cruise operations on March 13, the decision where to dock the Westerdam was re-assessed as part of a broader review of ships deployment during this period.”

In the past few weeks, several groups in the Juneau community had reached out to Holland America with plans to make the officers and crew on board the Westerdam feel welcome. Holland America Line thanks the community for those efforts.
