Grocery roundup: CAPITAL AKcess offers delivery service & other helpful info

Not all seniors hunkering down have family or friends to assist with meal or grocery delivery. CAPITAL AKcess now offers grocery delivery for seniors and other paratransit riders who require this extra support. To learn more about the service or to make a delivery reservation, call CAPITAL AKcess at 1-844-4AK-CESS or 463-6194.

Additionally, Southeast Senior Services continues to deliver Meals On Wheels five days a week. Call 463-6179 for that service, or go to ccsjuneau.org for more information.

  • Safeway, 6-9 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday
  • Fred Meyer 7-8 a.m. Monday through Thursday
  • Costco, 8-9 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday

  • Rainbow Foods: Offering delivery service to Downtown Juneau, Thane, West Juneau, and Downtown Douglas – Monday to Friday; Valley and Airport area delivery – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Send an email with a grocery list and your phone number to [email protected]. Minimum delivery orders is $25 with an additional $5 delivery service fee.   • Instacart (delivery of groceries): Use the Instacart app or website to create a shopping list for Costco, Fred Meyer, or Safeway and have the groceries delivered to a Juneau address. Please note that this service may not available for all Juneau neighborhoods. Also, delivery fee applies.
  • Fred Meyer: You can also place an order online for delivery at https://www.fredmeyer.com/i/ways-to-shop/delivery. Delivery fee applies.
