Get ready for swim lessons with Juneau Pools lessons expos March 6 & 13
Juneau Pools will host two swim lesson expos at Dimond Park Aquatic Center on Wednesday, March 6 and Wednesday, March 13 to help prepare young swimmers for swim lessons during the spring and summer seasons. Registration opens online on Friday, March 1 at noon.
At the expos, swim instructors will work with children in small groups to provide coaching and help identify their skill and comfort level in the water. Swimmers will then be ready to sign up for the class level that best fits them.
Five sessions are available between 4:15 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. Each session lasts 15 minutes and includes 12 spaces for Preschool (ages 3-5) swimmers and 12 spaces for Youth (ages 6-12) swimmers. Sign up through the Parks and Rec registration catalog (click on the Juneau Pools tab) beginning Friday, March 1 at noon. This event is free of charge.
Starting in summer 2024, young Juneau Pools swimmers will need to either attend a lessons expo or complete the previous level of classes in order to sign up for intermediate and advanced swim lessons (Levels 2, 3, and 4). This is a great opportunity for swimmers with experience in the water to get a head start on the process.
Information about registering for spring swim lessons will be available next weekâstay tuned for details.
Additional expos will be held in May.
