Eaglecrest accepting applications for 2018-2019 Hilary Lindh Scholarship
Eaglecrest Ski Area and its Board of Directors are now accepting applications for 2018-2019 Hilary Lindh Scholarship.
Four finalists will receive a complimentary season pass, and all applicants will receive a free rental and lesson package. Eligible applicants must be a resident of the City and Borough of Juneau and attend a Juneau School District school or equivalent.
The Hilary Lindh Scholarship will be awarded to one girl and one boy in Grades 1-4, and also Grades 6-12. Eaglecrest’s 5th Grade Passport program already provides a season pass to Juneau area 5th graders.
Applicants will be judged based on competitive spirit and athletic ability. Download the application here or visit our ticket office during regular business hours.
The Lindh Scholarship was established in 1992 in recognition of Hilary Lindh’s 1992 Olympic Silver Medal and her dedication to downhill ski racing. Hilary started skiing in Juneau at an early age and won the U.S. and World Junior Championships in Downhill at age 16. She went on to compete in three Olympics and won the 1997 World Downhill Championship before retiring in March of 1997. Hilary was inducted in to the U. S. Ski Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame in 2009.
The Hilary Lindh scholarship is a great way for Eaglecrest to connect with the Juneau community and support young skiers and snowboarders looking to pursue their dreams.
Eaglecrest’s opening day is scheduled for Saturday, December 1. Staff has been working hard to complete a substantial snowmaking expansion that will help open more terrain in early season conditions.
