Douglas Highway construction continues at Cordova St. intersection through Thursday
Work on the Douglas Highway Water Main Replacement Project will continue to be concentrated at the Cordova Street intersection today, September 25, and tomorrow, September 26. City and Borough of Juneau contractor Admiralty Construction will be reducing traffic to one lane through the work zone all day, except between the peak traffic hours of 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. when two lanes are open. Drivers may experience longer than usual delays during high volume times.
Admiralty Construction works from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Drivers are asked to please watch for workers and equipment. Flaggers will be present near Cordova Street to help keep traffic moving.
Due to this construction, Capital Transit bus service is modified. There is no outbound service to Douglas from Cordova Street; riders on Cordova can wait for the bus at the bottom of the hill instead. The bus stop at Breeze In has been temporarily moved closer to the roundabout. For more information, call Capital Transit at 789-6901.
