Docks & Harbors holds events May 13 & 14 for United for Infrastructure 2021

May 12, 2021 – FYI

City and Borough of Juneau Docks & Harbors is joining the national effort – United for Infrastructure 2021 – to raise awareness for the need to invest in the nation’s infrastructure by holding events this week. The ribbon cutting events commemorate the completion of recent waterfront projects:

  • Thursday, May 13, at noon on the Seawalk – Officials will recognize the Downtown Waterfront Improvement project (the deck-over between the Downtown Public Library and Pier 49), the Douglas Zinc Anode installation, and the maintenance dredging for Harris/Aurora Harbors.
  • Friday, May 14, at noon at Don D. Statter Harbor Facility – Docks & Harbors will celebrate the completion of the For-Hire-Floats at the Don D. Statter Harbor Facility. Following the Statter ribbon cutting ceremony, Docks & Harbors will provide refreshments as part of Customer Service Appreciation.

The public is welcome to attend all events. Social distancing is required; masks are encouraged.

The United for Infrastructure effort raises awareness about the need to invest in transportation, water, communications, and energy infrastructure. The week, May 10-14, advocates for infrastructure policy and federal investment to support public health and safety, and bring about resilient and equitable communities.
