Dimond Park Aquatic Center to Cap Weekend Open Swims Beginning October 22

Beginning Saturday, October 22, weekend open swims at Dimond Park Aquatic Center will be limited to 80 patrons at a time for the foreseeable future.

Like many organizations, Juneau Pools is facing ongoing staffing shortages; we hope to return to previous capacity when staffing has improved. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Interested in working for Juneau Pools? Parks and Recreation will offer a lifeguarding class November 18-20 at Dimond Park Aquatic Center. Participants who successfully complete the class will be earn their American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, valid for two years.

Class schedule:

  • Friday, November 18              4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 19          8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 20            8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Class fees are $250 for general participants but free for those who intend to use their lifeguard certification to work for Juneau Pools. The class is open to a maximum of 10 people.
