Construction on Savikko Road begins May 11

City and Borough of Juneau contractor Arete Construction will begin a reconstruction project on Savikko Road in Douglas on Monday, May 11. The project will include a new paved road surface, new rock sub-base, new waterline, and drainage improvements to the roadway. Completion is expected late summer.

The project will involve temporary traffic stoppages with flaggers and one lane traffic. Drivers, bikers, and pedestrians are encouraged to pass through the site with caution, watching for construction equipment and personnel.

ProHNS Engineering will be performing project inspection for CBJ.
