Construction on Mendenhall River Community School playground to begin July 6

Construction on the City and Borough of Juneau’s Mendenhall River Community School Playground & Site Upgrades Project will begin Tuesday, July 6. During construction, the Pre-K and K-1 play areas and a portion of the main playground will be closed. The closure will last until school starts on August 16.

CBJ contractor Admiralty Construction will install new play equipment and ground surfacing in the Pre-K and K-1 play areas. Some of the play equipment was donated by the Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska. A new drainage system will also be installed in the area between the main playground and the back fence.
