Construction on Douglas 4th St. Improvements Project begins June 21

City and Borough of Juneau contractor Glacier State Contractors is scheduled to begin work on the Douglas 4th Street Utilities and Drainage Improvements Project on Monday, June 21. The project area is adjacent to Gastineau Elementary School and includes portions of G, H, and I streets, and portions of 4th and 5th streets. Please watch for traffic control signs, lane detour routes, construction equipment, and personnel.

Major work items will include the replacement of underground water, sewer, and storm utilities and structures; the replacement of the existing Bear Creek culvert; and roadway resurfacing. Work is expected to continue through the end of November.
