Construction for Chicken Yard Park Improvements Project starts May 17

Construction for the City and Borough of Juneau’s Chicken Yard Park Improvements Project is scheduled to begin Monday, May 17, and wrap up at the end of June. The park will be closed for use during this time, though the community garden will be accessible for public use. Please use caution in this area and follow all traffic control and signage.

The project will begin with the mobilization of equipment and demolition of existing park features. Improvements include asphalt pavement, removal and replacement of the wood retaining wall, new playground equipment, new fencing, site furnishings, and landscaping.

Anticipated hours of work are Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
