Celebrate Community Day at Amalga Meadows Park on Saturday, August 20
Make the most of the last weeks of summer and come out to Amalga Meadows Park on Saturday, August 20, for an afternoon of outdoor fun with Juneau Park Foundation, SAIL, Discovery Southeast and CBJ Parks & Recreation. From 12 – 3 p.m. we’ll have activities for fun-lovers of all ages. Get a bite to eat at the free hot dog lunch, then join in the lawn games, try out the high ropes SAIL Challenge Course, or take a nature walk with naturalist Richard Carstensen.
Please note:
- The SAIL Challenge Course is first-come, first-served.
- The nature walk will take place from 1 – 2:30 p.m.
Community Day is a Parks & Rec Month of Play activity. Get your Passport to Play stamped or drop your name in the hat for a chance to win some great prizes, including a one-night stay at the Eagle Valley Center!
Don’t have a Passport yet? Pick one up from the Parks & Recreation office in City Hall or download one from the website. The Passport to Play grants free admission to the participant and up to two guardians at Dimond Park Aquatic Center, Augustus Brown Pool, Treadwell Arena, Dimond Park Field House and Juneau-Douglas City Museum. Passports must be submitted to Parks & Recreation by August 31 to be entered into the drawing. You can submit a Passport in person at the Parks & Recreation office or on the Month of Play website. Drawing will take place Friday, September 2.
