CBJ reports two new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting two new nonresidents identified with COVID-19 in Juneau. Public Health is attributing the cases to travel. The nonresidents are in the mining sector.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,183 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 145 nonresidents. There are 18 active cases in Juneau and 1,305 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 67 new people identified with COVID-19 – 64 are residents and three are nonresidents. Alaska has had 58,645 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,513 nonresidents.

Vaccine information

According to DHSS, 12,133 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 7,307 are fully vaccinated.

Statewide, 209,130 people have received their first dose and 141,644 are fully vaccinated.
