CBJ reports two new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting two new residents identified with COVID-19 in Juneau. Public Health is attributing one case to community spread and the other case is under investigation. The cluster associated with the small Juneau business is at 11 individuals, with 10 recovered.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,168 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 143 nonresidents. There are 17 active cases in Juneau and 1,289 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 150 new people identified with COVID-19 – 144 are residents and six are nonresidents. Alaska has had 57,449 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,468 nonresidents.

Vaccine information

According to DHSS as well as data reported from the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, 8,369 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 6,710 are fully vaccinated. Statewide, 174,028 people have received their first dose and 122,823 are fully vaccinated.
