CBJ reports three new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting three new individuals identified with COVID-19 in Juneau – two are residents and one is a nonresident. Public Health is attributing all the cases to secondary transmission.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,139 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 142 nonresidents. There are 21 active cases in Juneau and 1,255 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 179 new people identified with COVID-19 – 175 are residents and four are nonresidents. Alaska has had 55,736 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,252 nonresidents.

Vaccine information

According to DHSS, 7,506 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine – either Pfizer or Moderna – and 5,050 have completed both doses. Statewide, 146,778 people have received their first dose and 92,630 have completed both doses.
