CBJ reports six new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting six new individuals identified with COVID-19 in Juneau – four are residents and two are nonresidents. Of the resident cases, Public Health is attributing two cases to secondary transmission, one to community spread, and one is under investigation. Both nonresidents are in the mining sector.

The two secondary resident cases are connected to a small daycare, bringing that cluster total to 10 – nine cases are active and one is recovered.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,238 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 154 nonresidents. There are 28 active cases in Juneau and 1,359 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 201 new people identified with COVID-19 – 196 are residents and five are nonresidents. Alaska has had 62,876 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,660 nonresidents.
