CBJ reports seven new COVID-19 cases in Juneau Feb. 6-8

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting seven new residents identified with COVID-19 in Juneau for the time period February 6 – 8. Public Health is attributing two cases to out-of-state travel, one to community spread, one to secondary transmission, and three are under investigation. The Wildflower Court cluster remains at 12 cases with 10 recovered.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,099 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 139 nonresidents. There are 18 active cases in Juneau and 1,215 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, DHSS today reports 96 new people identified with COVID-19 – 89 are residents and seven are nonresidents. Alaska has had 53,694 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,074 nonresidents.

Vaccine information

According to DHSS, 5,622 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine – either Pfizer or Moderna – and 3,438 have completed both doses. These numbers include doses from Juneau’s recent clinic on February 5-7, which administered 1,204 doses. Statewide, 109,187 people have received their first dose and 43,684 have completed both doses.
