CBJ reports one new COVID-19 case in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting one new resident identified with COVID-19 in Juneau. Public Health is attributing the case to secondary transmission.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,180 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 143 nonresidents. There are 16 active cases in Juneau and 1,302 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital. All eleven individuals in the small Juneau business cluster have recovered; Public Health considers the cluster closed.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 105 new people identified with COVID-19 – 102 are residents and three are nonresidents. Alaska has had 58,258 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,497 nonresidents.

Vaccine information

According to DHSS, as well as data reported from the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, 11,405 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 7,254 are fully vaccinated.

Statewide, 199,834 people have received their first dose, according to DHSS, and 137,483 are fully vaccinated.
