CBJ reports one new COVID-19 case in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting one new resident identified with COVID-19 in Juneau. Public Health is attributing the case to secondary transmission. The Wildflower Court cluster remains at 12 cases with 10 recovered.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,100 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 139 nonresidents. There are 18 active cases in Juneau and 1,216 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) today reports 116 new people identified with COVID-19 – 106 are residents and 10 are nonresidents. The state also reports another death – a male Wasilla resident in his 60s – bringing the total number of resident deaths to 278. Alaska has had 53,809 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,084 nonresidents.

Vaccine information

According to DHSS, 5,729 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine – either Pfizer or Moderna – and 3,448 have completed both doses. Statewide, 110,626 people have received their first dose and 45,626 have completed both doses.
