CBJ reports one new COVID-19 case in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting one new resident identified with COVID-19 in Juneau. How the individual acquired the virus is under investigation.

The cluster connected to a small daycare is still at eight active cases.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,234 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 152 nonresidents. There are 31 active cases in Juneau and 1,350 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 156 new people identified with COVID-19 over the past three days – 135 are residents and 21 are nonresidents. Alaska has had 62,681 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,655 nonresidents.

Vaccine information

According to DHSS, as well as data reported from the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs:

  • 16,410 people in Juneau have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. That’s 51.6 percent of Juneau’s total population.
  • 12,483 have completed their vaccine series. That’s 39.3 percent of Juneau’s total population.

Statewide, 258,687 people have received their first dose, according to DHSS, and 208,812 are fully vaccinated.
