CBJ reports one new COVID-19 case in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting one new resident identified with COVID-19 in Juneau. Public Health is attributing the case to secondary transmission.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,190 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 145 nonresidents. There are nine active cases in Juneau and 1,321 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 183 new people identified with COVID-19 – 179 are residents and four are nonresidents. Alaska has had 59,710 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,538 nonresidents.

Vaccine information

According to DHSS, as well as data reported from the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, 14,530 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 7,849 are fully vaccinated.

Statewide, 229,779 people have received their first dose, according to DHSS, and 158,064 are fully vaccinated.
