CBJ reports nine new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting nine new residents identified with COVID-19 in Juneau. Public Health is attributing all nine cases to secondary transmission.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,125 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 140 nonresidents. There are 22 active cases in Juneau and 1,238 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 213 new people identified with COVID-19 – 209 are residents and four are nonresidents. Alaska has had 55,009 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,182 nonresidents.

Vaccine information

According to DHSS, 7,135 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine – either Pfizer or Moderna – and 4,567 have completed both doses. Statewide, 133,221 people have received their first dose and 73,461 have completed both doses.
