CBJ reports four new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting four new individuals with COVID-19 in Juneau – three are residents and one is a nonresident. Public Health is attributing one of the resident cases to secondary transmission and the other two are under investigation. The nonresident is a visitor to Juneau.

The Mendenhall Auto Center cluster is currently at 41 cases – 30 are active and 11 have recovered. The cluster associated with Juneau’s vulnerable/unsheltered population is at 93 cases – seven cases are active, 86 have recovered.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 584 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 106 nonresidents. There are 97 active cases in Juneau and 590 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There are currently three people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services today reports 504 new people with COVID-19 – 502 are residents and two are nonresidents. Alaska has had 17,597 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,102 nonresidents.
