CBJ reports four new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting four new individuals with COVID-19 – three residents and one nonresident. Of the resident cases, Public Health is attributing one of the cases to community spread, one to secondary transmission, and one is under investigation. The nonresident is in the mining sector and the case is travel-related.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 301 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 100 nonresidents. Combined, there are 26 active cases in Juneau and 374 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 136 new people with COVID-19 – 127 are residents and nine are nonresidents. The state also reports one new death, bringing the total number of deaths to 57. Alaska has had 7,948 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 964 nonresidents.
