CBJ reports 7 new COVID-19 cases in Juneau August 3

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center reports seven new individuals – five residents and two nonresidents – identified with COVID-19 in Juneau for August 3. Of the resident cases, Public Health attributes two to secondary transmission, and three are under investigation. Of the nonresident cases, one is a tourist, and one is in tourism.

The cluster associated with a local restaurant remains at seven individuals – three are active and four have recovered.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,598 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 202 nonresidents. There are 67 active cases in Juneau and 1,728 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.  There was a data adjustment today that added 2 nonresident cases to the dashboard.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 307 new people identified with COVID-19 – 283 are residents and 24 are nonresidents. Sadly, the state is also reporting two new deaths today, both individuals are from Anchorage, a female in her 70s and a male in his 60s.  Alaska has had 73,257 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 3,275 nonresidents.
