CBJ reports 47 COVID-19 cases in Juneau Nov. 26-30

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting 47 new residents with COVID-19 in Juneau for time period November 26 to November 30 (17 cases were reported November 26-27, and 30 were reported November 28-30). Of the 47, Public health is attributing 20 cases to secondary transmission, four to community spread, and the rest are under investigation.

CBJ also reported a new Juneau death November 27. This is an individual who previously had COVID-19, and then recovered. The individual subsequently passed away and the death was attributed to COVID-19. CBJ extends condolences to the family members and friends of this individual.

Public Health says the University of Alaska Southeast cluster has concluded. The cluster had eight cases and the last case was considered recovered November 27.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 791 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 112 nonresidents. There are 56 active cases in Juneau and 842 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services today reports 481 new people with COVID-19 – 478 are residents and three are nonresidents. Alaska has had 31,323 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,253 nonresidents.
