CBJ reports 15 new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting 15 new residents with COVID-19 in Juneau. Public Health is attributing four of the cases to secondary transmission and the rest are under investigation.

One of the secondary cases is associated with Mendenhall Auto Center, bringing that cluster total to 29. The cluster includes employees as well as close contacts of employees. Twenty-five cases within the cluster are active and four have recovered. The cluster associated with Juneau’s vulnerable/unsheltered population is still at 91 – six cases are active, 85 have recovered.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 567 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 105 nonresidents. There are 100 active cases in Juneau and 569 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There are currently three people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services today reports 413 new people with COVID-19 – 405 are residents and eight are nonresidents. Alaska has had 16,764 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,096 nonresidents.
