CBJ reports 14 new COVID-19 cases in Juneau Dec. 19-21

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting 14 new individuals with COVID-19 in Juneau – 13 are residents and one is a nonresident. These cases came in December 19-21. Public Health is attributing seven resident cases to secondary transmission, one to community spread, two to out-of-state travel, and three are under investigation. The nonresident is a visitor to Juneau.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 910 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 117 nonresidents. There are 34 active cases in Juneau and 988 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services today reports 152 new people with COVID-19 – 150 are residents and two are nonresidents. Alaska has had 42,563 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,460 nonresidents.
