CBJ reports 13 new COVID-19 cases in Juneau May 29 – June 1

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting 13 new individuals identified with COVID-19 in Juneau May 29 – June 1. Ten individuals are residents; three are nonresidents. Of the resident cases, Public Health attributes five to secondary transmission, one to community spread, one to out-of-state travel, and three are under investigation. One of the nonresidents is a traveler.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,347 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 164 nonresidents. There are 19 active cases in Juneau and 1,487 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 116 new people identified with COVID-19 over the past four days – 108 are residents and eight are nonresidents. Alaska has had 67,507 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,812 nonresidents.
