CBJ reports 12 new COVID-19 cases

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting 12 new residents with COVID-19. Public Health is attributing four cases to secondary transmission and the rest are under investigation.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 922 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 117 nonresidents. There are 44 active cases in Juneau and 990 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services today reports 429 new people with COVID-19 – 426 are residents and three are nonresidents. The state also reports 10 deaths today, bringing the total number of resident deaths to 193. Four of the deaths were recent – a female Anchorage resident in her 80s, a female Anchorage resident in her 70s, a male Anchorage resident in his 70s, and a male Anchorage resident in his 60s. Six deaths were from death certificate reviews over the past several months – a male Mat-Su Borough resident in his 80s, a female Anchorage resident in her 80s, a male Anchorage resident in his 70s, a male Anchorage resident in his 70s, a female Anchorage resident in her 60s, and a male Big Lake resident in his 40s.

Alaska has had 43,001 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,462 nonresidents.
