CBJ reports 10 new COVID-19 cases in Juneau May 1-3

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting 10 new residents identified with COVID-19 in Juneau May 1-3. Public Health is attributing two cases to community spread and the rest are under investigation.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 1,291 residents test positive for COVID-19 and 158 nonresidents. There are 22 active cases in Juneau and 1,422 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 271 new people identified with COVID-19 over the past three days – 264 are residents and seven are nonresidents. The state also reports one death – a male Wasilla resident in his 50s – bringing the total number of resident deaths to 342. Alaska has had 65,678 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 2,748 nonresidents.
