CBJ reports 10 new COVID-19 cases in Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting 10 new residents with COVID-19 in Juneau. Public Health is attributing two of the cases to secondary transmission, two to out-of-state travel, one to community spread, and the rest are under investigation.

The University of Alaska Southeast cluster is currently at seven cases – six are active and one has recovered. One of the students with an active case is no longer in Juneau.

Cumulatively, Juneau has had 680 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 110 nonresidents. There are 59 active cases in Juneau and 727 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There is currently one person with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services today reports 551 new people with COVID-19 – 549 are residents and two are nonresidents. Alaska has had 24,419 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,169 nonresidents.
