CBJ Launches New Way to Find Public Notices & Announcements
The City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) is pleased to share the launch of the CBJ Public Notices & Announcements webpage, a new CBJ site where residents can access current meeting schedules, agendas, public hearing notices, and other information all in one location.
Creation of the website began after the Assembly adopted Ordinance 2026-10, which modernizes how CBJ may provide public notice while complying with Alaska’s legal requirements. After ordinance adoption on March 9, 2026, CBJ staff determined that a centralized Public Notices & Announcements webpage could be developed and maintained using existing CBJ resources.
This Public Notices & Announcements webpage reduces the city’s reliance on contractors, while also streamlining the publication of information and reducing public notice costs. Unlike a printed newspaper, the webpage allows notices to be posted promptly and accessed at any time, without requiring residents to wait for the next newspaper publication.
With the launch of the website, CBJ will phase out routine public notices in the Saturday Juneau Empire. CBJ will instead broaden public notice outreach to more local media, including the Juneau Empire, Juneau Independent, KTOO and KINY, directing residents to the new Public Notices & Announcements webpage. Outside of the website, official CBJ public notices will continue to be posted on the public bulletin boards at City Hall. Copies of public notices are also available from the City Clerk’s Office.
