Candidate Filing for 2026 Municipal Election Between July 17 and 27

Candidates seeking to appear on the ballot for the City and Borough of Juneau’s (CBJ) October 6, 2026 Regular Municipal Election must file all required paperwork with the City Clerk’s Office between 8 a.m. on July 17, and 4:30 p.m. on July 27. The following seats will be open for candidate filing: 

  • One (1) Assembly Areawide Seat (3-year term) 
  • One (1) Assembly District 1 Seat (3-year term) 
  • One (1) Assembly District 2 Seat (3-year term) 
  • Two (2) Board of Education Seats (3-year term) 

To become a certified candidate, the City Clerk’s Office must receive printed copies of the following completed items: 

  • Declaration of Candidacy 
  • Nominating Petition with signatures from at least 25 registered Juneau voters 
  • Acceptance of Nomination
