Bridge closure near Cope Park entrance
October 27, 2017 – FYI
CBJ has closed the bridge at Gold Creek on Calhoun Avenue, right at the entrance of Cope Park. Due to a mudslide, water flow has been diverted and is washing out the bridge. The bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic until further notice for safety reasons. CBJ has placed road barricades and traffic signs. Thank you for your patience.
As a general safety precaution, please avoid driving through running mud and water. The bridge near Cope Park isn’t an isolated incident. Running water and mud on roads is being reported throughout Juneau and Douglas.
