Bartlett Regional Hospital’s Interim CEO assures continuity of BRH Services

September 20, 2021 – News

The Southeast community will continue to receive quality patient-centered healthcare during the transition of leadership at Bartlett Regional Hospital. In her remarks to hospital leadership and staff today, Interim Chief Executive Officer Kathy Callahan emphasized a continued focus on best serving the health needs of the region. Bartlett teams remain strong and mobilized.

Bartlett Regional Hospital Board of Directors appointed Callahan Saturday following the departure of CEO Rose Lawhorne. Callahan will serve as interim as the Bartlett Board of Directors begins the process to hire a new permanent CEO.

Callahan brings more than 20 years on the Bartlett staff to the interim position, retiring as the Director of Physician Services earlier this year. She has a deep knowledge of hospital operations, staff and providers, and great respect for Bartlett staff and patients.

“I have always admired the incredible work you do, especially during this particularly difficult time in healthcare,” she wrote in an all-staff email. “Leadership changes can make us feel uneasy, but I want to assure that you have the support of our leadership team.”

In the same email, Callahan also noted the recent resignation of Chief Behavioral Health Officer Bradley Grigg. All behavioral and mental health programs will continue with no interruption.

A Special Meeting of the Hospital Board is scheduled for Friday, September 24th to discuss the recruitment plan for the permanent CEO. Join the meeting online https://bartletthospital.zoom.us/j/99669782382 or call 1-253-215-8782 with Meeting ID: 996 6978 2382.
