Ballot Drop Boxes Open Today as Voting Begins for CBJ Municipal Election

CBJ ballot drop boxes open today, September 15, at 3:00 p.m. as the voting period begins for the 2022 City and Borough of Juneau Regular Municipal Election. Ballots were mailed Tuesday to all registered Juneau voters at the address on file with the Alaska State Division of Elections and voters are encouraged to check their mailboxes for ballots arriving as early as today.

Beginning this afternoon, voters will be able to drop of their voted ballots at secure drop boxes in the following locations:

Auke Bay-Statter Harbor Boat Launch Parking Lot
(NOT the Harbor Office parking lot)
11801 Glacier Highway, Auke Bay

Douglas Library/Fire Hall Community Building
1016 3rd Street, Douglas
Drop boxes will be open until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

Voters will also receive a copy of the 2022 voter information guide in a separate mailing. The voter information guide includes information on each of the four ballot propositions as well as a sample ballot. The guide is available online at bit.ly/3QLJzVh.

Additional paper copies will be available beginning Monday, September 19, at all Juneau Public Library branches at City Hall in the Seward Street entrance foyer.

Vote Centers, where voters can receive voter assistance, request and vote a replacement ballot, or drop off voted ballots, will be open beginning September 19 at the following locations:

City Hall Assembly Chambers
155 S. Seward Street
September 19 to October 3: Weekdays 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Election Day, October 4: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Mendenhall Valley Public Library
3025 Dimond Park Loop
September 19 to October 3: Weekdays 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Election Day, October 4: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
