41 new COVID-19 cases reported for Juneau

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 41 new residents in the Juneau community identified with COVID-19 for September 22. There are currently seven people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

The Juneau School District reports three new individuals who’ve tested positive for COVID-19 and were infectious while in school:

  • One at Harborview Elementary (no classroom closures)
  • One at Thunder Mountain High School (no classroom closures)
  • One at Sayéik: Gastineau Elementary (one classroom quarantined)

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 1,251 new people identified with COVID-19 – 1,224 are residents and 27 are nonresidents. The state also reports one death – a male Anchorage resident in his 80s – bringing the total number of resident deaths to 466. Alaska has had 100,111 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 4,463 nonresidents.
