34 new COVID-19 cases for Juneau Oct. 30 – Nov. 1 & one death

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) reports 34 new residents in the Juneau community identified with COVID-19 for October 30 thru November 1. In addition, the City and Borough of Juneau reports one new death in Juneau due to COVID-19. The individual – a male Juneau resident in his 60s – died at Bartlett Regional Hospital Friday, October 29. CBJ extends condolences to family members and friends of this individual.

The total number of deaths associated with Juneau is currently 15 – 14 residents (two died out of state) and one nonresident (death occurred outside Juneau). CBJ is reporting the new death based on hospital reporting ahead of it being posted on the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services dashboard.

There are currently three people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Statewide, DHSS reports 1,547 new people identified with COVID-19 – 1,526 are residents and 21 are nonresidents – for the past three days. The state also reports three recent deaths bringing the total number of resident deaths to 702:

  • Female Anchorage resident in her 80s
  • Male Fairbanks resident in his 60s
  • Male Anchorage resident in his 70s

Alaska has had 134,167 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 5,262 nonresidents.
