
30 new COVID-19 cases reported for Juneau
The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 30 new Juneau residents identified with COVID-19 for September 29. There are currently six people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
The Juneau School District reports eight new individuals who’ve tested positive for COVID-19 and were infectious while in school:
- Two at Sitʼ Eeti Shaanáx̱ – Glacier Valley School (two classes quarantined as a result); reported late afternoon September 28
- Two at Thunder Mountain High School (no classes quarantined as a result)
- Three at Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé (no classes quarantined as a result)
- One at Mendenhall River Community School (one class quarantined as a result)

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reports 1,009 new people identified with COVID-19 – 976 are residents and 33 are nonresidents. The state also reports four recent deaths bringing the total number of resident deaths to 546:
- a female Anchorage resident in her 70s
- a male Anchorage resident in his 40s
- a male Anchorage resident in his 40s
- a female Anchorage resident in her 60s
Alaska has had 108,608 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 4,784 nonresidents.
