There are three elections in 2020 that Juneau voters may participate in
This year, Juneau voters can participate in three elections:
1. August 18 – State of Alaska Primary Election – Polling Place Election https://elections.alaska.gov/
Please note that a number of the usual polling places have changed for the State’s 2020 election. See the list of updated polling places in Juneau here.
To vote by mail in the State elections, voters must apply for an absentee ballot here. Voters can also vote early in person. See all the early and absentee voting options here.
Early/Absentee Voting is now underway for the State Primary Election. Voters from all 40 Alaska Districts can vote in person at the following locations/dates/times in Juneau:
- Juneau Region I Elections Office Mendenhall Mall Annex
Monday – Friday, August 3-17 at 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday, August 8 & 15 at 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sunday, August 9 & 16 at 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Tuesday, Primary Election Day, August 18 at 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. - Juneau State Office Building, Willoughby Ave. 8th Floor
Monday – Friday, August 3-17 at 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Tuesday, Primary Election Day, August 18 at 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. - Juneau International Airport, 1873 Shell Simmons Drive
Tuesday, Primary Election Day, August 18 at 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
2. October 6 – City and Borough of Juneau Regular Election – By Mail Election https://juneau.org/clerk/elections
Juneau registered voters will be sent a ballot directly to the mailing address on their voter registration – no application necessary. More information on the local election is forthcoming.
The last day to register to vote for the October 6 Regular Municipal Election is Sunday, September 6. Voters should register, if possible, prior to that date. If a voter has changed a name, or a residence or a mailing address, an updated voter registration application should be completed. Voters may register to vote at any of the following locations:
- State Division of Elections’ Office, 240 Main St., Room 601
- State Division of Elections – Region I Office, Mendenhall Mall, 9109 Mendenhall Mall Road, Suite 3
- Municipal Building, 155 S. Seward St., Clerk’s Office Room 202
- Any CBJ Library

3. November 3 – State of Alaska General Election – Polling Place Election https://elections.alaska.gov/
