INFORMATION RELEASE
October 6, 2023 (6:30p.m.)

CBJ MUNICIPAL ELECTION UNOFFICIAL RESULTS UPDATED 10/6/2023

The CBJ Election Staff has processed and counted all ballots received through October 2 and approximately two-thirds of the ballots received on Election Day, Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Those results are posted on the CBJ Elections webpage at https://juneau.org/clerk/elections.

Ballot processing will continue next Monday and Tuesday. The next stage of ballot counting will occur on Tuesday, October 10 with the next set of unofficial updated results to be published by that evening.

Part of the ballot review process includes sending “Cure Letters” to voters informing them of additional steps needed before their ballots can be counted. This happens in cases where ballot envelopes have a missing signature, personal identifier, no reference signature on file or a number of other reasons. CBJ voters are asked to check their mail and respond to any cure letters right away so their ballots may be forwarded for additional review and counting, if eligible.

The CBJ Elections team continues to receive ballots via USPS and will process those with final unofficial results published the evening of Friday, October 13 prior to the final review by the Canvass Review Board.

The Canvass Review Board will meet October 16 & 17 to review and certify the election. The official/final results will be posted online once the Canvass Review Board and Election Official certify the election on October 17. Certification may be delayed by up to 3 days on a case-by-case basis as may be required.

Full election details are online at https://juneau.org/clerk/elections. Anyone with questions about this election can call the Ballot Processing Center at 907-586-5278, option 4 between 9am-4pm Monday through Friday.
